Storm season

Storm season, plainly

Hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. The roof work that helps most is done before it starts.

This page says what we do and what we don't, so you know before you call.

What we do

  • Inspect the roof and photograph it

  • Write an itemized estimate you can share with anyone

  • Cover an opening to keep the rain out until the repair

  • Meet your adjuster on the roof, if you ask us to

What stays yours to decide

  • Whether to file a claim

That is your decision, and we won't make it for you.

  • Dealing with your insurer

You do that. We are not public adjusters and we don't act for you.

  • Your deductible

It is always yours to pay. We can't pay, waive, absorb or rebate it.

  • Who you hire

Ask for more than one written estimate, and read each one line by line.

Before, during and after the season

  1. 01

    Step 1: Before June 1

Get the roof looked at and keep the photo report where you can find it.

  2. 02

Step 2: When a storm is coming

Bring in what can fly. Crews can't work on a roof in high wind, and neither should you.

  3. 03

    Step 3: After it passes

Look from the ground, take photos and stay off the roof. Ask for an inspection when it is safe.

About storms and insurance

Are you public adjusters?

No. We are roofers. We inspect, photograph and write an itemized estimate, and you decide what to do with it.

Will you cover my deductible?

No. The deductible is always the homeowner's, and no roofer may offer to pay, waive or absorb it.

Can you meet my adjuster?

If you ask us to. We show them the photos and the roof, and the decisions stay between you and your insurer.

Want the roof looked at before June?

Request an inspection and we set a time with you.
